Samantha Mohr
Participating in her first pageant on the recommendation of an acquaintance of UGA student, Mohr won the Miss Columbus 1985 title. She was then eligible to compete in into the Miss Georgia pageant in June 1985. Mohr won the competition on the 22nd of June, 1985. More than $3500 was awarded to Mohr in scholarship money and other prizes. As Miss Georgia, her activities Georgia included appearances in public spots all over Georgia. Mohr represented Georgia at Miss America 1986 in Atlantic City (New Jersey) in September 1985. Mohr was a one-in-one chance in winning the Miss America title. Computer modeling proved successful in predicting Susan Akin's triumph. Mohr was not a Top-10 finalist to win the national crown. Mohr has been Miss Georgia for a total of ten seasons, and was not crowned until Marlesa Bal, who was her successor, was declared Miss Georgia 1986, on June 28 in 1986.
